Associate Veterinarian

Job Description


We are looking for a Veterinarian to diagnose and treat our clients’ pets. We are looking for someone to work Monday's, Tuesday's and Wednesday's 9am-4pm. Appointments start at 9:30 and are generally 30 min each. Our clinic specializes in dogs and cats only. Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Vet will include performing surgeries (i.e spay/neuter, foreign body removals, urinary blockages, amputations, soft-tissue surgeries, dentals) as needed, and consultations. Surgeries are performed in the morning with appointments in the afternoon. The owner will be around for support if needed. If you love being around animals and friendly staff,  we’d like to meet you. We generally do no see emergencies and no animals are kept overnight. We are slowly growing and offer a stress free environment. You will be allowed to practice medicine how you would like, as long as it's in the best interest of our patients. We currently have a new digital x-ray and hope to start grooming services.


  • Examine animals and check their health status

  • Diagnose illnesses and determine the best treatment

  • Dress wounds of injured animals

  • Perform dental, ophthalmic  surgeries- orthopedic experience is a plus

  • Vaccinate animals to prevent diseases

  • Spay and neuter cats and dogs as needed

  • Prescribe medication -DEA license required

  • Advise pet owners on nutrition, preventive healthcare and general care

  • Update client records

  • Discuss diagnostic results with owners



  • 2 years Work experience as a Veterinarian

  • Experience conducting various types of surgeries, vaccinations and health checks on animals independently.

  • Knowledge of medical equipment (e.g. X-ray machines) and anesthesia procedures

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions using simple language

  • Patience and a love for animals

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent

  • DEA License

  • NYS Veterinary License

  • Ability and willingness to teach staff


Job Type: Part-time (could evolve into Full-time)
